  • Do You Offer a Payment Plan?

Yes! We offer a payment plan which allows you to break your purchase into four payments auto drafted every two weeks.

  • Do you Offer a Guarantee?

While we can never guarantee a child's capability or the lack of underlying issues that may delay the process, we can offer you a risk-free option.

Our "Until You Reach Your Goals" package does guarantee that we will remain in  communication with you until you reach your goals, even if that takes us beyond your original four-week timeline.

  • Do you offer Refunds?

No we do offer refunds. Your child’s success hinges on your consistency of approach, lack of underlying medical issues, and readiness for learning. We have no way of knowing if families are being consistent or whether we might encounter a readiness or medical issue. Parents (including myself!) have been known to “cave” in hard moments, unintentionally confusing their child and sabotaging progress. As hard as that may be for you to fathom (wink, wink), I’m sure you understand why we can’t offer a guarantee of your results or a refund for a lack of them.

You can hear from parents who had similar concerns and were thrilled with their results here. They are all 100% legit. You may even see someone you know! At the time of this writing, we have worked with the families of over 2,000 children. If they could get through this learning process, yours can too.

  • How Do I Know if My Child is Ready?

You can read our thoughts on readiness here. In our experience, we can’t convince you that your child is ready or capable and, if you don’t believe they are, they will not be. It is critical to their success that you believe they are ready and that this will work.

  • What Does it Look Like to Work Together?

Our two week package includes a 60 minute phone or video consultation during which we discuss how to prepare for the process, what to purchase or gather in advance, how to present the process to your kiddo (and how not to!) and what issues you might encounter along the way.

Our four week package includes a 60 minute consultation so we can review the history together, determine what the obstacles are, and cover strategies to move those obstacles out of the way. You will also complete diet/nutrition and occupational therapy screening questionnaires so our team can check for red flags for underlying causes of struggle, outside your child's control.

Following your consultation you can reach out (for 2 weeks or 4 weeks depending on your package length) each day via email, communicate within a tracking app where you record each potty win or accident, and by way of weekly check in calls.

We can’t always reply in the moment (we are Moms too!) but do answer questions within 24 business hours as they arise, help you know what is normal and what may be a problem, help you pivot when something isn’t working, and point out and celebrate those wins that will help you keep going. It’s as close as we can come to being there with you.

If you purchase our "Until You Reach Your Goals" package but have not reached your stated goals by the end of that four week timeline we will be happy to continue to communicate via email and app at no additional cost to you until they are achieved and  even if that takes us beyond the original four week timeline. It's risk free!

  • I Don’t Need a Two- or Four Week Package. Do You Offer Anything Smaller?

In our experience, the “magic” we provide is rarely an instant success or fix but in having daily support along the way. Our packages are designed to provide just that. We as consultants need time to get to know your little human and the faily dynamic to help you all be successful. These timelines also allow you to reach out each day via email, communicate within a tracking app where you record each potty win or accident, and by way of weekly check in calls. We answer questions as they arise, help you know what is normal and what may be a problem, help you pivot when something isn’t working, and point out and celebrate those wins that will help you keep going.

If you purchase our "Until You Reach Your Goals" package but have not reached your stated goals by the end of that four week timeline we will be happy to continue to communicate via email and app at no additional cost to you until they are achieved and  even if that takes us beyond the original four week timeline. It's risk free!

  • Are You Comfortable Working with Alternative Family Systems and all Gender or Non-binary Parents and Children?

Yes! We are here to support ALL parents, children and families. We have worked with many LGBTQAI+ parents and alternative family systems and welcome everyone to reach out for support.

  • Do You Come to My Home? Can You Do This For Me?!

No. All of our support is offered virtually, via video/phone consultation and follow up calls, daily email support, and daily communication within a tracking app. Our goal is to help you feel equipped and supported to support your child. This process takes more than a few hours or even a few days so you will need the tools to work with your kiddo for the long term.

  • Do You Follow a Specific Method?

Yes. And No. While we are all certified in the Oh Crap Potty Training method, we bring a wealth of experience with all sorts of kiddos and scenarios to the table, allowing us to pivot and customize that approach as needed. Until we see how your child responds though, we will be following the Blocks of Learning outlined in that method which will require AT LEAST three days at home with one parent focused on the learning child, without distractions, guests or errands. That also requires, in the vast majority of cases, introducing a potty in addition to the toilet and having your child naked from the waist down to start. In some cases, we will need to remove the overnight diaper/pull-up while, in many cases, we can focus on day training first and only. If you are planning to purchase support, it is important that you are prepared for and open to those variables.

  • What Ages of Children Do You Work With?

We work with parents of children who are 2-5 years of age, with and without special needs such as autism, ADHD, and developmental delays.

If you have a child who is older than 5 years of age or a child who has a diagnosis, please start with a discovery call so we can be sure we can help.

  • What Issues Do You Help Families Work Through?

We help families prepare for and approach the potty learning process, as well as troubleshoot questions and challenges that arise along the way. If you are already in the midst of the process, we can help you address night training, fear, resistance, accidents at home and/or school/daycare, withholding pee or poo, refusal to sit, and most instances of constipation.

We also support families who have children who need extra time and tools in order to achieve this milestone, such as those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD. If you have a child who is 5 or older, or a child with a diagnosis, please start with a discovery call so we can be sure our support is the right fit.

  • My Child Has a History of Constipation/Withholding/GI Issues. Can You Help?

Yes, with caveats. Children with a GI history and/or a prolonged potty-training journey require our longer four week package.

We are not medical professionals and these are medical conditions. We can inform you about strategies to address and resolve these issues but recommend that you implement those strategies under the supervision of a pediatrician or GI specialist who is informed on the topic and supportive of those strategies. Strategies we suggest might include getting an abdominal x-ray, giving your child regular doses of Miralax, Ex-Lax, suppositories, enemas or even a “cocktail” of more than one of those over a period of days, weeks and - in some cases - months. Our suggestions are based on our non-medical training and experience and are very effective but we are not doctors. Typically these medical issues, once resolved, leave behind behavioral issues and/or broken links in the learning process and those are challenges we can address together.

  • My Child is Strong-Willed/Terrified/Totally Disinterested. Can You Help?

Yep. We understand that might be scary or intimidating for you but, rest assured, we specialize in these kiddos! You are welcome to read what other parents, who felt similarly when they reached out, are saying after working together here.

  • What Are Your Credentials?

We are a team of three Oh Crap Certified Potty Training Consultants. That means we have been trained, certified and continue to be mentored by Jamie Glowacki, the author of Oh Crap Potty Training, herself. Atop the training and mentoring, we each bring years of related experience with children in general, and potty training in particular, in the home and group child care setting.

  • Who Will I Work With?

If you start with a discovery call, you will speak with whomever is available at the date and time you select. When you purchase the package, you will be able to see and select a specific consultant, if you have a preference. You can meet the team here.

  • Will This Work and Work Within the Two Week Package Time?

Assuming your child is capable of learning the steps involved and has no unaddressed, underlying medical issue, yes! That being said, you and we have no control over what their learning process will look like or how long it will take until you are no longer thinking about pee, poo or the process. Our package is designed to at least get you started and, in many cases, it is all families need. If you need additional support at the end of the two weeks, or if you need to return to discuss the same child down the road, you will have access to these smaller options for returning families.

  • I Only Have a Weekend to Get This Done. Is That Okay?

If you can only carve out a two or three day weekend, then we will work with what we have. Be prepared, however, that, while some kiddos have their lightbulb moment on days 1-3, others have it closer to or beyond day 7. Both are well within the range of normal. If your child has yet to hit that lightbulb moment and extra variables are piled atop their learning process such as school, errands, travel, etc., you may have a longer and messier point A to point B. Having reasonable expectations and carving out as much time as possible will make for a more seamless - not to mention less stressful - process.

  • How Soon Can We Meet? How Soon After Our Meeting Can We Start Implementing Our Plan?

Availability varies but, in general, we can get you in within about one to two weeks and often sooner. Once we receive your payment, you will receive a scheduling link and can choose the next available time that works for you. Once we have the consultation, you can begin right away.

Some families want to meet now but hold off on diving in until a future date (such as over a long work/school/daycare break). That is also fine and, if that is your plan, we will wait to start the clock on the two weeks of follow up support.

  • Can my partner and/or my child’s caregiver be included in the consultation?

Absolutely. Ideally anyone who will be caring for your child within the next few weeks would be present for the consultation. Anyone who can’t be present can view a recording of the consultation (be sure to select Zoom when you book and let us know you want the session recorded) and get caught up by way of the handouts we send to you and can also be included on the follow up calls and emails.

  • If we need additional support down the road, will we need to start over with a new package?

If you are returning to discuss the same child (recurring issues or new ones), no. You can use these smaller options for returning families to reconnect.

If you are returning to discuss a new child, yes, you would purchase a new package for that child.

  • My child is in daycare or with a caregiver so we can only control what happens on weekends. Can we still dive in and will my child be successful?

This is a common challenge and, to be honest, it depends on your child and on the facility/caregiver(s). We can certainly focus on practicing only during home/parent hours if school/your caregiver is not equipped to support your kiddo through the learning process and requires them to wear diapers or pull-ups until they are fully trained. However, that may be confusing for your child and confusion can delay the process or prevent progress. Even when school/daycare is equipped to help, growing accustomed to using the bathroom there, without the comfort of a parent and with extra distractions, is a challenge. Ideally we would get your kiddo fully successful and comfortable at home before sending them back to school. When that isn’t an option, we prepare you and them as much as possible in advance and troubleshoot issues along the way. Most of the daycare/school facilities we have worked with are open to suggestions and happy to help your child be successful there.

  • My Partner or Caregiver is Not On Board. Will This Still Work?

Probably not. Tension in the home and receiving mixed messages from caregivers typically causes the process to stall. For that reason, we either need all caregivers on board regarding when and how to approach the learning process OR we need to remove any caregivers who are not on board from the process, until your child is successful.

  • I’m sure your techniques work with other children, but you’ve never met my child! They are SO strong willed. What if I have the only child that can’t learn to use the potty?! Have you worked with higher need children and do you have special techniques for working with them?

No, we’ve never met your child. But I have met mine and he has the strongest will I’ve ever encountered. (Lucky me.) Over the years we've also supported many parents of higher need and/or strong willed children. Just as surely as your tenacious little one can learn to walk or adapt to a babysitter or new sibling, they can learn to pee and poo in a new way/location. We just need to present this to them in a way that factors in their levels of intelligence and persistence and allows for zero confusion. We actually find that strong willed children, while they give you a hard start, respond very well when we work together.

  • We are moving/traveling/introducing a new caregiver/returning to work soon. Can we still work together?

It depends. I would not implement a plan you will need to put on the back burner a week later when you travel or return to work. It won’t be fun or feel fair to anyone to start and stop and start again. We also don’t want to ask you kiddo to master this major milestone while they are also coping with another major life change. Often however we can work on preparing your kiddo before diving in. Or we can meet now to discuss how to dive in a bit down the road.

  • If I wait long enough, will my child just become interested and figure this out without my intervention? I mean, everyone uses the toilet, right?!

It depends on who you ask but you are here asking us, so we'll give you our answer…it’s unlikely. Yes it is entirely within the realm of possibility but that is different from the realm of probability. Many parents who take the wait-it-out approach - some because their pediatrician suggested that - come to us in a panic when their child is 4 or 5 years old and about to enter school, still perfectly content to pee and poo in diapers, pull-ups, their clothing, or anywhere but the potty.

Some of us have the type of kiddos who will never be “ready” in terms of excitement or even willingness. In that case, it is up to us as parents to decide that they are capable and let them know what the expectations are, supporting them to meet those expectations.

If you feel ready to get started now, you can purchase your package of support here. If you have additional questions and prefer to speak before deciding whether or how to proceed, feel free to book a discovery call. We look forward to helping you and your family get more sleep!
