Losing Sleep? Tried Everything? This Online Class is For You!
Frequent Night Waking?
Bed and Naptime Battles?
“Why Won’t My Child Sleep?!” It’s a question I have been asked hundreds of times in the last few years by desperate, exhausted parents who feel they have tried everything. And it just. doesn’t. work. With so many books, websites and experts readily available (and no shortage of unsolicited advice!), how could that be? I have helped hundreds of families sort through and resolve their sleep issues and, in doing so, have come to understand that while every child, family and scenario is unique, there are several common threads that span from one to the next that can complicate your efforts to reclaim sleep for your family.
In the Philadelphia area I offer regular group workshops where I help parents understand these common threads and how they are impacting their sleep scenario. This class almost always sells out (So you are not alone!) and many parents start seeing results immediately. Out of a desire to be able to share this information with as many families as possible and regardless of their location, I created this video series.
If you feel like you have tried everything and just can’t tackle your sleep struggles or if you are just considering change and want tips on where to begin, this series is for you.* If you are frustrated by frequent night waking, short naps, early rising, or tired of only being able to put your child down in one specific way, this series if for you.* In it we will explore several common things you may be doing or not doing that can make or break your child’s ability to fall and stay asleep. Here’s what parents have to say about the class:
“Although we never met, I purchased your online class and learned how to put my twins to bed. My son would cry all night long and we had gotten to the point were he would sleep with us in bed nursing for most of the night. I watched and took notes and watched again and again. Within a week my son was sleeping on his own room. My daughter followed suit. She would wake several times a night to feed and now she only wakes once for a feed. They are 5 months old. They take 3 naps a day and sleep from 6:30 pm to 6 am. I wish I knew before what I know about sleep now. My first born was a terrible sleeper. And now I know why. Thank you so much. My husband and I were at our wits end. Now we have time in the evening again to reconnect before bedtime.” – Andrea Schork
“I met you in your class a few months ago. At that time, T. was about 9 months old and still waking 2-3 times a night. As two working professionals (each working about 60-80 hours/week), my husband and I realized that sleep became a necessity for us to be a happy and healthy family. We felt a little like we had failed and lot like we needed a solution among millions of internet articles about “how to sleep train”. I came to your class ready to pay any amount of money to “fix” the problem. Sharing your story was very powerful. It was great to hear an honest account of a clearly caring and smart mother who needed more information-and I am glad that you sought it out on behalf of us all! T. is about to turn one year old this month, and has been sleeping through the night for the past month. I feel that T. became happier. I mean… he was chronically sleep deprived! I know that we are not out of the woods, and may have some new sleep challenges ahead of us, but I am thankful for how far we have gotten today.” – Monique Gardner
“Thank you for such helpful advice to get B. sleeping in a little later in the morning!…Your help has been wonderful and I know we are all on the path to a better night’s sleep. Thank you! I am already sharing your information with friends who are struggling with their kid’s sleep issues!” – Sarah Bajus
“I have the wonderful pleasure of working with Erica Desper both professionally and personally over the last several years! I teach parenting classes at the Nest in center city and Erica is a regular and favorite guest speaker for my new moms. Her warm, thoughtful, and patient interpersonal style reassures moms who are struggling with infant sleep and she helps them feel validated and heard. Erica offers such excellent and practical sleep advice for parents in my group. Moms have said, “bring Erica back again- she was fabulous!”, “after doing what Erica suggested in class, my baby is sleeping now!” Personally, Erica has been a life-saver for my family. My son decided to stop sleeping at 18 months, was taking hours to go to sleep at night, and was waking up multiple times at night. I was exhausted and overwhelmed and did not know what to do. Erica created a detailed plan for us and was available for on-going support during the sleep training process. And, he started sleeping again after we followed Erica’s plan! Erica’s knowledge of both infant and toddler sleep is fabulous and she meets parents where they are and understands that sleep is a sensitive and often emotional topic for parents. I give Erica my highest recommendation as a pediatric sleep specialist!” – Pamela Vail, PhD
